Due to the recent spike in COVID-19 cases nationally and Florida in particular, Heat Wave is adjusting this weekend's rehearsal and auditions scheduled for January 8 and 9.
CAMP WILL BE HELD BOTH DAYS!
However, without the ability to create a "bubble" with a two-day event, we will hold all of the rehearsal outdoors. This is the norm for drum corps. However, what is different is our inability to offer housing for Saturday evening. Members will need to overnight at home. Those who are planning to attend Sunday only due to Indoor Rehearsals and Clay County Honor band, please arrive Sunday morning.
Our primary concern is the health and safety of the members, staff, and volunteers. Masks will be required at appropriate times and a temperature check will be administered upon arrival. If you feel unwell or have been recently exposed to someone with COVID-19 please submit a video audition. All in attendance should also complete the COVID Event Screening Form (link below) to turn in at check-in.
For brass, our next rehearsal is on February 12. Guard and Percussion will return as originally scheduled on April 2 after the Indoor performance season. We will be feeding members both days and the schedule for the weekend is:
Saturday, January 8
8:00am Check-in
6:30pm Dismissal
Sunday, January 9
9:00am Check-in
2:00pm Dismissal
We know this situation isn't ideal. But to err on the side of caution now can assure a successful season this summer. We also want to be good stewards to Forest High School that has graciously allowed us to use their practice facilities.
All this being said - we still want to know you are coming! If you have yet to register, or this will change your plans, please do do at:
www.heat-wave.org/auditon for those attending their first event
www.heat-wave.org/camp for those who have already paid the $50 audition fee.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We love you and want all to be safe.
All my best!
Jeff
